According to AHDB figures for auction markets up until mid-week, sheep are leading the way in livestock prices with old season hoggs showing a significant rise of 7.39p/kg on the week giving an SQQ of 213.34p/kg. New season lambs remain fairly static at 236.30p/kg. Cull ewes are also up, almost £5 per head to average 85.69 per head.
Cattle prices are almost unchanged. Steers and young bulls are very slightly down, but heifers are up a little giving an overall average of 187.69p/kg, down 0.15p/kg on the week. For the first time in many weeks cull cow prices have not risen and remain steady at 132.02p/kg.
