With the exception of lambs, most classes of finished stock were easier this week. AHDB figures up to Tuesday show steers at 191.23p/kg lw which was down 1.41p/kg on the week. Heifers averaged 194.73p/kg – down 2.85p/kg – and young bulls 184.85p/kg.
Lambs were a couple of pence dearer with the new season SQQ at 186.83p/kg. Lightweights returned an average 190.26p/kg but most lambs were in 39kg – 45.45kg bracket and averaged 185.63p/kg. Cull ewes were on a par with last week at just over £70/head.
